PEI Sports Hall of Fame calls for nominations
The PEI Sports Hall of Fame is calling for nominations to be part of the induction class of 2023.
Athletes, coaches and builders who were either born, or lived on PEI during their athletic prime, and have brought sporting honour to the province on the regional, national, or international stages may be eligible for induction.
To be eligible, athletes must have been retired for at least five years, or be considered to be five years past their athletic peak.
Those in the builder category must have made a significant contribution to their sport for at least 10 years.
Island teams who have achieved success at the regional and national levels are also eligible for nomination.
Nomination forms and more details are available by visiting www.peisportshalloffame.ca or by contacting Nick Murray at 902-393-5474, or peisportshall@gmail.com.
The nomination deadline is August 15, with an induction ceremony taking place in the Fall. Traditionally the Hall inducts four new members each year.
In addition, the Hall is also looking for interested people to join the Board of Directors, or to serve on the induction selection committee. Interested parties should contact the Hall Chair, Paul H. Schurman, at phbjschurman@islandtelecom.com
