The Hall of Fame was saddened to learn this week of the passing of Brian Lewis, one of the greats in Island baseball.
Brian was one of the few Islanders in the modern era to be drafted and sign a contract with a major league team when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1953.
Although he never played in the big leagues he is considered one of the best ever to come from this province.
Brian was 80 years old, and we send our condolences to his family and friends.
