The PEI Sports Hall of Fame is saddened to hear of the passing of one its charter members, Alfred Groom, who passed away at the age of 84.
Alf was an outstanding track and field athlete in pole vault, where he was a Canadian champion four times, and twice held the national record. He represented Canada many times internationally, including the British Empire Games in Perth, Australia.
